While you do spend a good chunk of your time in battling monsters in a shadowy reflection of the real world, Persona is still ultimately all about relationships. Even your abilities in battle are directly linked to the bonds of friendship and beyond you form with others. You’ll want to push every relationship as far as you can as quickly as you can, if only to get the perks and new Personas they unlock. Giving gifts also helps deepen relationships with your romance interests - and, in Persona 5 Royal, your non-romanceable friends as well - without having to spend time on a date or outing. That means you have an extra free slot to focus on furthering your bond with someone else, so as long as you have the money for it, you should give gifts to Confidants whenever you can. As with everything in Persona 5 Royal, you have precious little spare time to spare. Just because something is expensive doesn’t mean it makes a good gift, either. Some of your friends’ favorite items cost surprisingly little, which is perfect for cash-strapped supernatural high schoolers like you. Naturally, this page will contain spoilers as to the identity of some confidants. Yoshida, the Sun Confidant, doesn’t accept gifts, and you can’t give Morgana, the jailers, or Sae Niijima gifts either.

Persona 5 Royal Confidant Gift guide

Below, we’ve listed the favorite gifts for each Confidant, including romance options, plus where you can buy the best gifts and how much they cost. Each character has a set of gifts that grant +3 relationship points and a wider selection of gifts that only grant +2, though again, cost and appreciation don’t always equate. Some of the more expensive gifts actually earn you fewer points towards your relationship.
